October 10, 2018 – Salinas, CA – Windsor Gardens Rehabilitation Center of Salinas, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located in Salinas, CA, announced that it was nominated for the 2018 Monterey County Award of Excellence in Food Safety by the Monterey County Health Department.
Each year, the Environmental Health Bureau of Monterey County thoroughly reviews the food establishments in its districts to choose nominees. Each nominee is required to meet a high level of criteria that is specifically based on the Monterey County Gold Seal requirements. A choice group of fifteen Monterey County food establishments were nominated due to their acknowledged consistency in food safety. Three winners were selected by the Award of Excellence Food Safety Panel at the 10th Annual Food Safety Conference, held on September 24, 2018, at the Monterey County Government Center.
While Windsor Gardens of Salinas was ultimately not selected as one of the three winners, it is a great honor to be one of just fifteen food establishments in Monterey County to be recognized for its diligence in providing such a high level of food safety.
“The Nutrition Department at Windsor Salinas feels honored and appreciated to be recognized,” says Diane Venter, Director of Nutritional Services at Windsor Gardens of Salinas. “Food Safety is a collaborative effort. The Nutrition Department demonstrates their commitment to protecting the community health and we will continue to provide excellence.”
